1. Trader Joe's - Nourish All In One Facial Cleanser ($5.99) : I adore this cleanser because it's simple yet exceptionally effective. It lathers nicely and never makes my feel skin parched after I wash my face.
2. Trader Joe's - Organic Virgin Coconut Oil ($5.99) : Natural oils used to scare me and I never imagined coconut oil would play such an important role in my skincare routine. Count me a believer now. I am able to cleanse, moisturize, and treat my skin with one simple product. Drop a tablespoon under hot running water the next time you take a bath for additional moisture.
1. T.N. Dickinson's - Witch Hazel Astringent ($5.49) : Witch Hazel is mild like water and successfully reduced my pores and blemishes without the added dryness that alcohol based toners are notorious for.
2. Bragg's - Apple Cider Vinegar ($5) : Does this product smell good? No. Are the results worth the unpleasant smell? YES. Dilute this potent liquid with water and apply as a toner or spot treat problem areas with a cotton swab depending on your skin type. The purge phase is worth it, I promise.
3. Sadaf - Rose Water ($2) : Say goodbye to overpriced facial sprays and greet rose water with open arms. Buy a travel sized spray bottle and spritz this before and after foundation for added moisture. Spray a few inches away from hair for extra shine and to help tame flyaways.
4. Trader Joe's - Tea Tree Oil ($6.49) : Apply a small amount of tea tree oil on problem areas using a cotton swab to speed up the healing process on pesky blemishes.
1. NOW Foods - Lavender Oil ($6.99) - I love mixing and matching essential oils when I take baths because the possibilities are endless. Mix multiple oils for a personalized scent.
2. Trader Joe's - Himalayan Pink Salt ($2) :
You can use any form of sea salt but I prefer Himalayan because it's... pink. I drop a few tablespoons during a bath or mix with honey for a body scrub that exfoliates well without stripping the skin.
3. Oatmeal - ($4) : Pour a cup into a hot bath for a "milky" texture or mix with honey for a soothing facial mask.
4. Dr. Bronner's - Magic Soaps ($15) : I'm very fond of the cool packaging that makes for great reading material when you can't bear to leave the safety of your shower. You won't understand the hype surrounding these soaps if you don't use them with a loofah because they slip and slide without one. Almond is my favorite scent because it smells sweet without any nauseating sugar undertones.
